The EcoBoost classification implies that the MKT is fitted with a fuel-saving 3.5L V6 engine that cranks out 355 horsepower at 5700 rpm. The standard 3.7L 24V Duratec V6 engine is slightly less efficient in terms of fuel economy, but still delivers an awesome amount of ready power. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed SelectShift transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The 2010 MKT is front-wheel driven.

Lincoln is synonymous with luxury and the MKT tops the line. One of the most noticeable features on the MKT is the huge Panoramic Vista roof. Everyone inside is treated to spacious views of the sky or city lights at all times. There is an optional power feature that allows the entire glass to be retracted as well. While the front seats come with standard heating and cooling, the rear seats are offered with these features optionally. The versatile seating configuration is also one-of-a-kind, offering the ability to fold down flat either one or both rear seating rows. Fold down the first rear seating row to maximize space for back passengers as they enjoy leather captain’s chairs. Fold them all down to create a cavernous cargo area.

The available Active Park Assist feature uses ultrasonic radar sensors to automatically detect the amount of space available for parallel parking. With just a few button pushes, your 2010 MKT from Lincoln will easily park itself for you. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System automatically delivers more power to the wheels with the most traction whenever wheelslip is detected in adverse weather conditions. And the BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert gives both visual and audio signals whenever there is a vehicle in your blind spot or whenever there are vehicles approaching in either lane as you are backing into traffic.

The Lincoln MKT for 2009 also treats you to the voice-activated Navigation System with SIRIUS Travel Link - a system that gets you where you’re going with real-time traffic and weather updates. The screen is huge, full-colored and displays bird’s-eye turn by turn voiced instructions to maximize the ease of your navigational needs. It also provides area-specific movie times, sports scores and more.

The list of standard features, safety and otherwise, is far too lengthy to list, but be assured that Lincoln has made it very impressive. The 2010 Lincoln MKT enters the new decade with a crossover vehicle that combines more than what seems possible. Every possibility for your traveling comfort and indulgence has been seamlessly incorporated. Pricing has been kept at a very respectable range and presents incredible value. Definitely allow yourself the privilege of experiencing the new MKT soon.

MKX is an example of the attention to your comfort that makes this luxury SUV a classic. MKX is powerfully energized with a 3.5L Duratek V6 engine which delivers 265hp and 250lb-ft of torque. Expect smooth riding performance from the standard 6-speed automatic transmission as well.

Engineered for absolute dominance over extraneous sound, the MKX also is attuned to your voice, with SYNC integration enabling voice control over most of the Blue Tooth and MP3 functions in the vehicle. MKX remembers how you like your seat positioned and maintains close control of the seating temperature. With 31.8 cu-ft of storage with seats in the upright position or 69 cu-ft of storage with the rear seat folded down, the vehicle is surprisingly versatile.

Expect a comprehensive safety system in the Lincoln MKX, with integration of airbags, rollover protection, and generous crumple zones to prevent collision forces from intruding into the passenger area. Channeling collision forces away from passenger areas is the job of MKX’s side impact reinforced doors and panels. Side and rear impact crash tests earned the Lincoln MKX a “good” in those categories.

The flowing style lines that define the vehicle’s surface frame an unforgettable front grille. The aggressive stance of the MKX is emphasized by its wide athletic physique. The rear passengers are afforded a rare luxury, visibility. The panoramic roof is thrilling to experience, with its ability to be opened wide to let the outside into the vehicle. Convenience only matters if it’s useful, and the motorized liftgate is a perfect example. With the push of a button, open or close the rear of the vehicle. A series of LED lights around the 2008 Lincoln MKX liftgate alert one that the process is in action.

With a wealth of amenities, the MKX has a leg up on the Lexus RX350 and other members of the competition. Its safety additions are both practical and technologically advanced. However, some potential buyers could be disappointed with the lack of drivetrain options, and the price of the MKX is a bit higher than the comparables on the market as well. Nevertheless, this 2009 Lincoln is customizable with accessories, exterior colors, and techie gadgets.

Under the hood, the Lincoln MKX is fitted with a 265 horsepower 3.5L V6. Both the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive trims come standard with this engine selection. Both also feature a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Consumers might be put off by the MKX’s lack of engine options, but the 17 city MPG and 24 highway MPG on the FWD trim more than make up for the disappointment. Also, with 250-lbs per foot of torque, the MKX is more powerful than many mid-size SUVs. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, and a tire pressure monitoring system are included as well. The tire pressure monitoring system features a digital readout in the instrument cluster that alerts drivers if a tire has too much or too little pressure.

Inside, the 2009 MKX is stocked with refined additions like wood and nickel accents, leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a remote keyless entry system with a driver’s side keypad. The auto-dimming rearview mirror will automatically adjust as lights hit the glass so that drivers are not distracted by a glare, and the keypad makes fumbling for keys in the dark a thing of the past. Also included with the MKX are heated and cooled front seats and dual-zone electronic automatic temperature controls. The temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to each determine their most comfortable temperatures independently. Features that can be added to the Lincoln MKX include a voice-activated navigation unit, heated rear seats, and a premium sound system with six-disc in-dash CD changer.

In general, the 2009 Lincoln MKX is well worth the money at $37,335. However, some might think that the navigation unit and premium audio system should be included for that amount of money. Solid safety features and an elegantly styled exterior make the 2009 MKX a perfect choice for individuals with small children that want to protect their precious cargo but not look like a mother’s taxi service.

The name for this model is different from previous ones used for Lincoln models in that is was the first one to use a letter-and-number combination, as opposed to a word name. The MKX is a similar vehicle to the Ford Edge, although it has been modified slightly. The MKX is constructed in a unibody manner, as opposed to a body-on-frame model like the Lincoln Aviator was. The MKX is manufactured at Ford’s Oakville Assembly plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It is the first Lincoln vehicle built in that country since 1936.

The name “MLX” was chosen for the vehicle shortly before the North American International Auto Show held in 2006. At that point, MKX was being pronounced “Mark-X” but the name didn’t catch on with the public or with dealers. In fact, some retailers refused to refer to the SUV by that name during training sessions for sales representatives offered by the Company. Ford did use this pronunciation (”Mark Ex”) in the first half of 2006, but in July of that year started referring to it as the “Em-Kay-Ex”).

As a result of the change, the Company was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Honda. The reason for the action started in January 2006 was that “MKX” was too close to the name of the Acura MDX offered by the Japanese car maker. The matter never made it to trial and was settled out of court.

The internal code name for the MKX was the U388. This vehicle came equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine, which is capable of producing 265 hp. The Lincoln MKZ and the Ford Edge also use the same type of engine. The MKX is outfitted with an automatic transmission (six speed) that was developed in partnership with General Motors. The vehicle gets 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

The MKX was updated for the 2008 model year. It now shows Lincoln badges near the front doors. Customers can choose to have heated rear seats and/or a Vista Roof as an option on the MKX. This vehicle has been referred to as “one of the luxurious crossovers on the market.” This luxury comes at a price. If you would like to own a Lincoln MKX, you will be looking at spending at least $35,000 for the privilege.

In 1932, Lincoln introduced the V12-powered KB in response to Ford’s V8 Model 18, but sales were disappointing. That same year, however, Eugene T. “Bob” Gregorie began designing the car that would eventually become the Continental. It started as a one-off project for Edsel Ford, who wanted a European-style car for Florida vacations - something smaller and spiffier than the boxy designs his father’s company was known for.

Introduced for the 1936 model year, the sporty Zephyr, which featured a 1.8 liter V12, was so successful it almost became a brand name, and it was also Gregorie’s inspiration, because what he did was to section a 1938 Zephyr Coupe about four inches, allowing most of the existing dies and tooling to be retained, and adding the distinctive vertically-mounted spare tire. This became the Continental, and by the time it ended production in 1948, more than 5300 of them had been built, almost entirely by hand. The original Zephyr stopped production in 1942, and was never revived.

In 1955, the Continental Mark II revived the concept. It was produced for one year by the Continental division, before it was returned to the Lincoln marque, and it had a list price of $10,000 - the same as that year’s Rolls-Royce. In 1958, the Edsel division merged with Lincoln-Mercury, becoming the Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln division until the Edsel was discontinued in 1960. Meanwhile, the Continental became Lincoln’s flagship model until 1981, when the Town Car, formerly the Lincoln’s top trim level, became its own model, and usurped the role.

It truly presents a revolutionary compilation of unique features all meticulously crafted to epitomize your pampering. There are four trims to select from: the base 3.7L Lincoln MKT, 3.7L Lincoln MKT Elite, Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost and the Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost Elite. MSRPs for those trims respectively begin at $44,995, $49,995, $49,995 and $54,995.

The EcoBoost classification implies that the MKT is fitted with a fuel-saving 3.5L V6 engine that cranks out 355 horsepower at 5700 rpm. This luxury four-door sedan’s price has been lowered for the 2009 model year in an effort to appeal to a younger audience; however, the base MSRP of around $38,000 might be a stretch for buyers with the current flattened economy. The exterior only sees minor changes, while the interior gets a complete redesign with a contemporary flair. Though the 2009 MKS looks like a classic Lincoln, the technological features and modern styling accents give it a push into the future.

With only one engine choice, potential buyers might be a bit disappointed; nevertheless, the 3.7L 24-valve V6 produces a powerful 270 horsepower and 265-lb foot of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift comes standard on the MKS as well. SelectShift is an integrated transmission system that provides smoother, easier shifting for a more controlled driving experience. Front-wheel drive is also standard on the 2009 Lincoln, which will provide better traction and vehicle stability. With 17 city MPG and 24 highway MPG, the Lincoln MKS is competitive with other luxury sedans on the market, but the maker has failed to improve the fuel economy in a market clamoring for extraordinary gas mileage.

An innovative feature incorporated into the 2009 MKS is the Securicode Invisible Keypad. Built directly into a black area of the upper driver’s door, this keypad lights up when touched and offers owners ease of entry when keys have been misplaced or drivers simply do not want to root around to find their keys. SYNC Exclusive Voice Technology in the MKS allows drivers to communicate with their car just by speaking. Phone calls can be taken while driving just by saying the word. Stereo settings can be changed just be telling the car to do so as well.

Taken as a whole, the 2009 Lincoln MKS is a well-designed luxury model, but the manufacturer’s goal to appeal to a younger buyer might not be successful. With the current influx of trendy Euro-inspired models being marketed directly to the younger crowd, the MKS’s traditional styling could be too mature and minimal for this group. As a result, the older market will most likely be the primary buyers of the newest Lincoln MKS. Also, though the price has been lowered for this model year, the 2009 MKS is still a bit pricey for most potential younger buyers. Even most families might have a hard time swinging the cost of this luxury model.

The luxury full-size sedan was a modern twist on the classic Lincoln style. With a streamlined design and elegant accents, the MKS wowed audiences and critics. With seating for up to five passengers, the Lincoln MKS concept had a rare combination of refinement and avant garde styling.

Production began on the luxury sedan in the spring of 2008 at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant. Recently, in June of 2008, the finished model was released to the public; however, only presales are taking place currently, with the actual delivery date scheduled for later in the year.

The MKS replaced the Lincoln Town Car, the maker’s longstanding flagship luxury sedan. Built on Ford’s D3 platform, the MKS offered interested buyers two engine choices, a 3.7L DOHC V6 and a twin turbocharged version of the same engine with Ecoboost. Ecoboost is an innovative Ford engine model that provides an impressive increase in horsepower. The 2010 MKS that is set to have this feature will possibly generate up to 340 horsepower, far surpassing the majority of other sedans on the American market.

Front-wheel drive is said to be standard, but buyers will have the option of upgrading to an all-wheel drive system as well. With innumerable features that can be added to the model like moisture-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear parking assist, and a premium sound system, reviewers are sure that the MKS will put Lincoln back on the map in the automotive industry. Not only that, with front park assist, the MKS will have a feature that almost no other American model has available.

Most recently, the Lincoln MKS was featured in an installment of the television show Motorweek. Early sales of the MKS are surprising even the most dedicated fans, exceeding sales of the already popular Cadillac CTS and high-end Infiniti M35. While Lincoln has confirmed that Ecoboost will be available on the model for the 2010 year, the maker has not substantiated any claims regarding the specific horsepower. Though most critics are staying on the conservative side with an estimate of 340, some are claiming horsepower in the upwards of 400. With all of the changes implemented into this Lincoln, it is no wonder that the maker decided to take a different route in marketing it as well. The MadCrazyLove commercial set the Lincoln MKS against the backdrop of a funny love story for three minutes, featuring shots of the sedan for a fifteen second spot and thirty second spot.

MSRPs range from $39,050 to $42,450. All are powered by a 300 horsepower, 5.4 liter, 3-valve V8 (automatic transmission with four speeds and overdrive.) Estimated fuel economy is 14 mpg city and 18 highway on a 30-gallon tank.

Lincoln equips all the LT trucks with connectors (four pin) for trailer towing and a ball mount on the rear bumper. The vehicle will handle payloads of 1,430 to 1,570 pounds and will pull loads of 8,500 to 8,900 pounds.

Occupants are protected by double airbags. The all-wheel brakes have ABS, EBD, and systems for the control of traction. Entry can be achieved via the remote or a keypad mounted on the door and the SecuriLock system is used to deter car thieves.

The audio system on the 2007 Lincoln Mark LT is a standard combo unit with MP3 playback capability and a changer in the dash that will hold six discs. Volume adjusts according to speed and a jack is present for auxiliary input. There is an option to place a DVD-based system (with SIRIUS Satellite Radio) in the backseat, which includes an eight-inch folding screen, wireless headphones, and jacks for use with video and audio equipment.

This four-door, luxury truck has room for five and relies on a 5.4-liter V8 (three valves per cylinder) producing 300 horsepower at 5,000 rpm. (An automatic transmission with four speeds and overdrive is standard.)

For the most part the 2008 is a carry over from the previous model year. New options include the capability for remote start and a rearview camera, a feature appearing on more and more vehicles as a matter of not just convenience but safety. On the LT the camera is mounted on the bezel of the tailgate handle with the display appearing the rearview mirror. (Sirius satellite radio, once an option, is now a standard feature on the Mark LT.)

The LT has an overall length of 223.8 inches and a height of 73.5 inches. Double wishbones are used for the front suspension with a coil-over-shock format. In the rear look for outboard shock absorbers and leaf springs. The Mark LT has a standard bed measuring 5.5 feet with an option for a long 6.5 foot bed. The 2WD model can tow 8,900 lbs., the 4WD 8,600.

Inside the LT’s cabin, ebony wood is used as trim and an auto-dimming rearview mirror on the driver’s side is a standard feature. DVD-based navigation is optional. Leather covers the seats, which are finished with pleats and include an insert with a quilted pattern. The instrument cluster is augmented with contrast stitching. (Available colors for the cabin include Pebble with Light Parchment, Black with Dove Gray, or Black with Ebony.)

In addition to its elegance and powerful performance, the 2008 Lincoln Mark LT features a full array of safety features included anti-lock all-disc brakes with electronic systems for brake-force distribution. In the front, dual airbags are deployed according to sensors that read crash severity and the presence or absence of a passenger. Although technically built on a Ford F-150 crew-cab body, don’t expect an every day work pickup. The Mark LT more than lives up to its luxury designation.
